A special closed meeting of the Tipton R-VI School Board held Friday evening, April 18, reportedly resulted in no action, according to the board president.
Bo Helms, who was just elected to that seat at the regular meeting held Wednesday, April 16, did confirm in an email exchange Monday, April 28, that Dr. Terry Robinson, superintendent is “away” from the district office.
When asked who is in charge at the school and if there is an interim superintendent with word in the community that Robinson is not there, Helms responded, “Our administrators are managing their buildings and programs while Dr. Robinson is away from the district. I am also providing support and am in consistent communication with them.”
Asked if there is an anticipated date of return by Dr. Robinson to the district office, Helms said, “I apologize, but we are unable to comment on personnel matters.”
The agenda sent the day before the April 18 meeting cited closed session exceptions related to legal actions involving the district, attorney communications 610.021(1), hiring, terminating, disciplining or promoting employees 610.021(3), and personnel records, evaluations and applications 610.021(13).
Helms said, “Meeting minutes were recorded for the Friday, April 18 meeting. However, there are no records responsive to your request.” For clarity, he said there was no vote or action taken in closed session.
