Council to act on several public works projects

The Tipton City Council will take action to move several public works projects along during its meeting Monday, June 2. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

A service agreement for the city’s wells will be approved, as will an updated water tower maintenance contract. The council will also authorize the mayor pro tem to sign an agreement with Allgeier, Martin and Associates for replacing rotors at the wastewater treatment plant.

Information on electrical needs at the ballfields at the Tipton City Park is expected to be shared with the council.

In administration, liquor licenses for the wine walk on July 19 at the Tipton City Park for the benefit of the Friends of the Maclay Home will be discussed.

A firefighter sign at the city park will be proposed, and the council will consider adoption of an ordinance setting new utility rates to meet inflation.

In new business, the council will make appointments to the Tipton Municipal Library District Board, the lease agreement with the Tipton Nutrition Center on the new community building will be considered for renewal, and an update to the employee policy regarding vacation and sick leave will be reviewed.
