Lady Cardinals are headed back to state

Third trip in four years

The Tipton Lady Cardinals are headed back to the Show-Me Showdown games in Springfield after taking a tremendous 64-29 win over Cairo Saturday, March 4 at Moberly Area Community Center, for the Elite 8 game.

The Ladies(29-1) will play Norwood (23-6) at 8 p.m. Friday, March 10, for their third trip to state in four years.

The game on Friday will be played in the Hammons Student Center at Missouri State University. The winner of that game and the New Haven and Bishop LeBlond game will play at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11, in the John Q Hammon, Great Southern Bank Arena. The third place game will be played at noon.

Tickets for the games will need to be purchased on MSHAA.org. To view the game without attending you can also purchase that on MSHSAA's website. The game will be broadcasted on KS95.1. on Friday. Depending on the outcome of the game for the Lady Cardinals and Mizzou basketball the game will either be on the radio or online at lakeradio.com.

To send the Ladies off, Tipton will host a pep assembly at Tipton High School on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m., with the team available to sign posters, shirts and shoes. The bus will leave for Springfield at 7:30 p.m. with fans lining Highway 50 for a big send off.

Tipton R-VI will not be in session on Friday, March 10, for teachers and students to be able to attend the game.
