Commission met pursuant to adjournment with Presiding Commissioner Joe W. Lutz, 1st District Commissioner Doug Naros, 2nd District Commissioner Jerry Volkart and County Clerk Roberta Elliott present, and among other matters the following business was conducted and made a matter of record.
IN THE MATTER OF MINUTES: The minutes were read and approved.
IN THE MATTER OF COURTHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS (Ceiling in Recorders office and Women’s Bathroom): Now and on this day Mandy Burger, Moniteau County Circuit Clerk, reported the ceiling was repainted. During the process used to remove the paint from the ceiling, there were spots on the wall that paint also came off. The contractor repaired those areas as well. On the bathroom 1st District Commissioner Doug Naros said we are still waiting on a toilet to complete the women’s bathroom renovation.
IN THE MATTER OF SB190: Now and at this day Presiding Commissioner Joe W. Lutz said that the ordinance for SB190 is almost finished. Marcy Oerly, Moniteau County Assessor, and Ellen Ash, Moniteau County Collector, along with the Commission are making some final clarifications to it and would soon set a date to approve.
IN THE MATTER OF LEASING BOLINGER BUILDING: Now and on this day Presiding Commissioner Joe W. Lutz announced that a lease has been signed on the Bolinger Building. Both the Prosecutor’s and Public Administrator’s offices will be moving there soon.
IN THE MATTER OF THE LIBRARY BOARD APPOINTMENT: Now and on this day by recommendation, Jerry Volkart, 2nd District Commissioner made a motion to appoint Melissa Hindman to the Moniteau County Library Board. Doug Naros, 1st District Commissioner, seconded the motion, motion passed.
IN THE MATTER OF CALIFORNIA CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT GRANT SUPPORT LETTER: Now and on this day Presiding Commissioner Joe W. Lutz signed a letter of support for the California City Fire Department related to a grant.
IN THE MATTER OF BANK BID OPTION: Now and on this day the Commission needed to decide which pricing option the county wanted to go with. Central Bank offered 2 pricing options in their bid. Central Bank was the only bid received and opened at the last meeting. One with a more variable rate for all balances or option two with a fixed rate on balances. Moniteau County Treasurer Sarah Jones explained the 2 options for the Commission. Jerry Volkart, 2nd District Commissioner, made the motion to accept the second option, Doug Naros, 1st District Commissioner, seconded the motion, motion carried.
IN THE MATTER OF COMMENTS FROM ELECTED OFFICIALS: Now and at this day the Moniteau County Treasurer Sarah Jones gave a treasurer’s report of all funds.
Moniteau County Assessor Marcy Oerly reported that one person so far has called for a Board of Equalization hearing. The meeting will be held on July 21st.
IN THE MATTER OF ROAD & BRIDGE ADMINISTRATION: Now and at this day Bryan Boyce with Great River Engineering reported that the Mt. Vernon bridge project was complete and had the Presiding Commissioner, Joe W. Lutz, sign final paperwork. Bryan also said the county would be receiving a progress report on the sidewalk soon. Matt Fazio with Great River Engineering was also present and gave reports that Strawberry Road Bridge, Kiely Ford crossing and Springer Hill are all progressing with right-of-way procedures and design plans.
First District Commissioner Doug Naros mentioned that the new brush cutter was delivered, training was done, and it is being used.
