Mrs. Alice Ruth Hibdon, 83, Boonville, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Boonville.
She was born March 18, 1942, a daughter of Carl Albert and Emma Isabelle Allen Class on the family farm near Prairie Home. On Sept. 15, 1968, she married George Wayne Hibdon who died Aug. 17, 1987.
She began her education at the Ellis School and then after it closed she attended Praire Home School. She was baptized at Pisgah Baptist Church on June 6, 1957. She started her working career in 1962, working various jobs in and around California, including Bill’s Drive In, caring for the elderly and serving as a volunteer for Hospice. She later worked at Ralston Purina and eventually Unilever (formerly Chesebrough Ponds) in Jefferson City where she worked 31 years, retiring in 2001. In 2003 she moved to Boonville to be near her mother. She kept busy with church work, watching the Kansas City Royals baseball and caring for her cats.
Surviving are her siblings and their spouses, Wilma Hogrefe, Carl Allen “Bud” (Virginia) Class, Ruby (Ken) Connell, Judy Isabel (Charles) Shoemaker, Donna (Glenn) Frieling and Barbara Lynn (Robert) Thoma; nieces and nephews, Wanda Hogrefe, Tami Hogrefe (Russell) Spears, Roxie Hogrefe, Rachel Hogrefe, Chris (Becky) Class, Jon (Toby) Class, Amy Connell, Rebecca Shoemaker (Josh) Mickels, Susan Shoemaker (Jeremy) Summers, Derek (April) Frieling, Kevin (Melissa) Frieling, and Jillian Thoma (Nathan) Chipley; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Fannie Kelso; and nieces and nephews, Patricia Dian Curtright, Breanna Connell, John Hogrefe and Emery Hogrefe.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at the First Baptist Church in Boonville with Pastor Ken Tounzen officiating.
Burial was in the Pisgah Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Frieling, Chris Class, Jon Class, Nicholas Heinen, Albert Tomlinson, Virgil Allen, Hannah Lee and Derek Frieling.
