The Tipton R-VI School Board held a series of special closed meetings recently to address filling the superintendent’s office on an interim basis, and last week hired a 31-year veteran of education.

Interviews with two candidates with prior experience as superintendents were held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, May 27 and 28. Wednesday the board voted to offer a contract to Dr. Julie Dill for the 2025-26 school year.

Board president Bo Helms said her salary will be based off the last superintendent contracted salary for the 2024-25 school year, which was $124,200 and will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the hours worked throughout the 2025-26 school year. He said as an interim superintendent she can work a maximum of 550 hours throughout the fiscal year.

“After interviewing Dr. Dill, the board felt that she would be a great fit for our district and elected to move forward with extending an offer,” said Helms. “Dr. Dill brings a wealth of experience to our district, having previously served both in full-time and interim superintendent roles in other districts. The board looks forward to working closely with Dr. Dill to maintain the momentum of our current initiatives, support of our educators and staff, and ensure that students remain at the center of every decision.”

Dill comes to Tipton R-VI with 31 ½ years experience in public education. She taught in the regular classroom  and was an administrator K-12, and served as a Title I teacher, a special education teacher, and an at-risk coordinator.

For the past 14 years, she has been working as a district-level administrator as a director of student services in Sedalia, assistant superintendent in Camdenton, and superintendent in Centerview and Climax Springs.

The Tipton R-VI motto, “We Build the Future - the Future is our Kids,” fits into the core work of Dr. Dill’s career. She has a student focus, working to meet the needs of all students, so they can reach their maximum potential for a successful future.

Julie lives in Warsaw with her husband of 41 years, Jerry. They have three adult children and nine grandchildren. They can be found spending as much time as possible with their grandkids, attending their activities and athletic events. They love making memories with their family.

Dr. Dill said she is excited to be a part of the Tipton R-VI School District and looks forward to working with the students, parents, staff and the community.
